Scheduling Facebook posts with Autopost
To get started, select Facebook from your list of profiles, hover over the left side menu, click Create, then choose from the four posting options (New post, Bulk publishing, Find content, and Smart publishing) as shown below:
|
Note: Facebook currently has a character limit of 5,000 and you can immediately see the post preview on the right side to get an idea of what it would look like once published. |
Publishing types
- Publish as Image: This option allows you to publish a static image post on Facebook. You can use it for sharing photos, graphics, or other visual content on your feed.
- Publish as Article: This option lets you publish long-form content, similar to a blog post, directly on Facebook. It is ideal for sharing in-depth articles, updates, or announcements.
- Publish as Story: This option allows you to create a Facebook Story, which is a temporary post that disappears after 24 hours. Stories can include photos, videos, and links, and are typically used for quick, engaging content.
- Publish as Reel: With this option, you can publish a short-form video to Facebook's Reels, designed for quick and engaging content that appears in a dedicated feed for Reels. It is similar to Instagram Reels.
- Publish as Video: This option is for sharing longer video content, allowing you to upload videos that will appear directly on your feed, ideal for tutorials, interviews, or promotional content.
Supported multi-image posting features
There are 3 ways to post multiple images via Vista Social: Image and Carousel
1. Image
Facebook allows you to schedule up to 5 images in a single post:
2. Carousel post
This format allows users to post 2 or more images or videos, each with its own headline, description, link, and call to action.
|
Note: A link is required in the text before you can successfully schedule a carousel post. |
Additional posting features supported by Vista Social
1. First comment - automatically adds a comment to the post once published
2. Call to action button - links to any destination on or off Facebook that aligns with the business' goals
3. Publish as image - removes the link preview and publishes the post as a text + image only
4. Audience targeting - the post will focus on certain demographics: by country, relationship status, gender, or age.
5. Location - lets you add a location to your post
Below are some sample posts that were published via Vista Social!
1. Text-only post
Content with text only - no links, images, or videos
2. Text w/ in-line link
Content with text and a plain URL within the same line
3. Text w/ link preview
A line of text with a link that includes a title, description, and an image to get a preview of what the link is about
4. Single image post
Image post which may or may not include a text or a text + link
5. GIF post
GIF is a short animation that is normally used for sharing emotions or memes that might be difficult to express through text
6. Single video post
Videos are used to gain more attention and increase conversion since they entertain the audience more than a regular text or an image post. See video posting guidelines for Facebook here.
Planning Facebook posts with Reminder Notifications
You can plan your Facebook posts in Vista Social using Reminder Notifications, if you'd prefer to not have the posts auto-post, by specifying the mobile device (yours or any of your team members) to be sent a notification at the scheduled time.
Step 1. Download the Vista Social application
Step 2: Run the app and allow notifications.
IMPORTANT: Allowing notifications is vital for you to be able to receive notifications.
Step 3: Log in with your Vista Social account
If you don't have an account please create one here. If you are a member of a team that uses Vista Social, please contact your account admin.
Step 4: Schedule your Facebook Post
Now, back on the web version of Vista Social, when scheduling a post, choose a Facebook profile.
After crafting your post, you will find an option to change from auto-post to reminder notification and be able to pick your "device" (the phone from which you have logged in) from a list.
If your device does not show up, please be sure to log in to the mobile app on the phone first and refresh the web screen.
Click Next and schedule your post!
Step 5: Open the notification and share on Facebook
You will receive a notification on your phone, like this:
When you click on it, it'll show you the caption and media for the post. Click on"Continue to Facebook", making sure to grant permission to access your phone's photos.
The caption will have been automatically copied to your clipboard, so you can paste it from here.
(Optional) Step 6: Mark your post as published
Simply click on the check mark to acknowledge the post (mark it posted) or the x mark to reject it (you don't want to publish it). This will help better track this post on your calendar:
