Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What data from my RSS feed can be pulled through and included in the post?
A: When setting up a Smart Publisher with a Specific Blog (RSS) feed in Vista Social, you can pull in the following fields from your RSS source and use them in your posts:
Title – The headline or title of the article or post from your feed.
Link – The direct URL to the original content so your audience can click through.
Description – The summary or excerpt provided in your RSS feed.
You can choose to include any combination of these fields when creating your automated posts, giving you flexibility over how your content is displayed.
Q: Why isn't my Smart Publisher pulling older articles from my RSS feed?
A: When you link a new RSS feed to a Smart Publisher, Vista Social only imports existing articles that were published within the last 72 hours. If the most recent content in your feed is older than three days at the time of connection, the Smart Publisher will not pull any historical posts.
Once the feed is active, the system monitors it moving forward and will automatically pull every new article published from that moment on.
Note: If you're still experiencing issues after publishing a new article to your feed, please contact our support team with your RSS URL.
