How to schedule an Instagram post with auto-publish

Note Auto-publish is available for Instagram Business and Creator profiles linked to a Facebook Page. For Personal profiles, use reminder notifications (see below). Learn more in Do you support Instagram creator accounts? |
1. Open the Vista Social app and tap the publish icon (paper plane) in the top right corner.
2. Select your Instagram profile in the profile selector at the top.
3. Create your post: add your text and media.

Note Instagram captions can have up to 2,200 characters. See Character limits for each social network. |
4. Set any extra options you need:
- Post comments: automatically adds a comment once the post is published.
- Tag profiles: tag Instagram users. See Instagram user tagging.
- Tag products: tag products to create shoppable posts.
- Invite collaborators: invite collaborators so the post also appears on their feed.
- Location: add a location. See Instagram location tagging.
- Comments enabled: turn comments on or off for the post.
5. Tap Schedule Post or Publish Now.

How to schedule with reminder notifications
Use reminder notifications for Instagram Personal profiles, or whenever you prefer to finish posting in the Instagram app yourself. Vista Social sends a notification to your phone when it's time to post, and you finish publishing in the Instagram app. Learn more in Auto-Publishing vs. Notification Reminders.

1. Create your Instagram post and change Auto publish to Send reminder notification.
2. Tap Publish as feed post to choose the post type.
3. Select the device you'll use to post.

4. Tap Schedule Post.
5. When it's time to publish, you get a notification on your phone.
6. Tap the notification to see the caption and media, then tap Continue to Instagram. Allow access to your photos if asked.
7. The caption is copied to your clipboard, so you can paste it in Instagram.
8. Optional: go back to Vista Social and tap the check mark to mark the post as published, or the X to reject it. This keeps your calendar accurate.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why can't I auto-publish to my Instagram profile?
A: Auto-publish needs an Instagram Business or Creator profile linked to a Facebook Page. For Personal profiles, use reminder notifications.
Q: How many images or videos can a carousel have?
A: Up to 10.
Q: Why didn't I get my reminder?
A: Make sure notifications are allowed for the Vista Social app and that you're logged in on the device you selected.
