Inbox folders (such as Primary, General, and Requests) that you see in the Instagram app are not supported in Vista Social.
This is due to limitations in the Messenger Platform API used to deliver Instagram messages to third-party tools like Vista Social.
Why does this happen?
Messages delivered through the Messenger Platform do not include folder metadata.
This means Vista Social does not receive information about:
Whether a message is in Primary
Whether it is in General
Whether it is in Requests
Whether it is in Hidden requests
Because this data is not shared via the API, we cannot display or replicate Instagram’s folder structure inside Vista Social.
What to expect in Vista Social
All Instagram direct messages that are accessible via the Messenger API will appear in your Vista Social Inbox, but:
They will not be categorized into Instagram folders
Folder changes made inside the Instagram app will not reflect in Vista Social
Folder status cannot be synced between platforms
Your messages will still be categorized based on their status. Learn more here.
