What are Instagram broadcast channels?
Instagram broadcast channels are a one-to-many messaging feature that allows creators and businesses to share updates, announcements, and messages directly with their followers. Messages sent to a broadcast channel appear in followers’ inboxes, helping accounts reach their audience in a more direct and timely way.
How to schedule a broadcast channel message in Vista Social
Before proceeding, we recommend that you create a custom profile for your IG broadcast channel first.
Start by crafting your message in the composer and adding your media through the camera widget.
Choose reminder notification as the publishing method. You’ll then be prompted to select a device.
Choose the phone that has the Vista Social app downloaded (make sure you are already logged in), as this is where the reminder notification will be sent.
Once everything looks good, schedule your message.
At the scheduled time, you’ll receive a notification on your phone.
Open the notification and copy your message to the clipboard. We will automatically download your media to your phone as well.
If prompted, allow Vista Social access to your phone’s photos so your media (if you attached one) can be downloaded to your phone.
Open the Instagram app on your phone to finish sending your message to your broadcast channel. Paste your message, attach your media, and share it in the channel.

Q: Why can’t I see the option to start a broadcast channel on Instagram?
A: According to Instagram, broadcast channels are still being rolled out and are not available to all accounts yet. At this time, only public accounts with more than 1,000 followers can start a broadcast channel. Availability may also vary by region and account, as Instagram is gradually expanding access.
Q: Why can't I auto-publish to my broadcast channel?
A: At this time, Instagram does not allow third-party tools to automatically send messages to broadcast channels due to API limitations. Currently, the inbox is limited to 1-on-1 conversations (DMs) only — group chats and broadcast channels are not yet made available by Meta. Learn more here.
