How to filter & label conversations
1. Head over to the Inbox page from the main menu.
2. By default, you are looking at All Messages. Switch to the Unread tab to view the ones that still need to be worked on.
3. Click the Select filters dropdown to see the list of filters for the inbox.
4. Start filtering conversations based on:
Message type
- Comments
- Mentions
- Messages
- Reviews
- Shares
- Invites
Labels
Your labels filter will depend on the labels you have already added to your messages in the inbox. (e.g., Collaboration, Inquiry).
Dark
Select whether you want to see comments from dark/ inorganic posts.
Sentiment
Choose to see messages with either a positive, negative, neutral, or mixed sentiment.
Labeling messages
This is the conversation view where all the messages exchanged with a person are shown. You can reply to a specific message or explore other options for each message, such as liking the message or labelling it so you can easily find it later. You can also create a task from messages.
Once you have chosen the message you want to respond to, type in your message at the bottom of the page and hit Send.
You may either reply to a message or leave an internal note for your team members. You can also attach images, emojis, and hashtags. For internal notes, you can mention your team members so they get notified about the message.

Q: How often does the inbox update for new messages?
A: Messages and comments come in real-time for Facebook and Instagram. For all other networks, the inbox updates every 6-7 hours on a refreshed schedule.
Q: Can I delete my messages from Vista Social?
A: No, most social networks do not allow third-party tools to delete messages on a user’s behalf, so this feature is not available in Vista Social.
Q: Does Vista Social also pull ad comments through?
A: Yes, dark post comments are supported for Meta ads.
Q: Is there a time limit for responding to Facebook and Instagram DMs?
A: Yes. Meta has a response window policy for Direct Messages to ensure timely communication and a positive user experience. You can read more about it here.

A: Yes, TikTok direct messages are available for Business Accounts outside the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
