Connect Apple App Store to manage your app reviews from the Reviews feed in Vista Social. To set it up, your App Store Connect administrator needs to generate an API key in App Store Connect and upload it to Vista Social.
Step 1: Generate an API key in App Store Connect
1. Log in to App Store Connect.
2. Go to Users and Access.
3. Open the Integrations tab.
4. Click the plus icon to add a key.
5. Enter a name for the key, like Vista Social Integration, and select Admin under Access.
6. Click Generate. The new API key appears in the Active table.
7. Click Download to download the key.
Important You can only download an API key once. Save the .p8 file somewhere safe before you leave the page. |
Step 2: Connect the key in Vista Social
You'll need the API key file you downloaded, plus the Issuer ID and Key ID. You can find both IDs in App Store Connect under Users and Access → Integrations.
1. Log in to your Vista Social account and go to Quick add → Add a social profile.
2. Choose the profile group you want to add the app to, or create a new one. Then click Continue.
3. Find Apple App Store in the list and click Connect.
4. Paste the Issuer ID and the Key ID.
5. Upload the .p8 API key file you downloaded in Step 1.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I see metadata like device or app version?
A: You can see the reviewer's country, but no other metadata at this time.
Q: Can I edit replies to reviews from Vista Social?
A: No, not at this time.
Q: Why can't I see my reply?
A: Apple keeps replies pending for up to 24 hours before posting them publicly, so replies sent from Vista Social may take a while to show up in the App Store. Meanwhile, they show as pending in the App Store Connect review management section.
Q: Will Vista Social import my existing reviews?
A: Yes. For each connected app, Vista Social imports reviews from the year before the connection date, up to the 500 most recent reviews.
Q: I lost the API key file. What should I do?
A: Apple only lets you download a key once. Generate a new key in App Store Connect and upload it to Vista Social.
