Tags (formerly post labels) let you group posts by topic, campaign, or content pillar. In a post performance report, you can compare how each tag performs and see which types of content your audience engages with most.
Interactive guide

What are tags?
Tags categorize your posts by topic, brand, business objective, or marketing strategy, so you can group and track posts that share a purpose. Learn how in How to add tags to posts.
How tags help with your analytics
- Segment post performance by category, such as campaign or content pillar
- Compare engagement metrics like likes, comments, shares, and clicks across tags
- Spot which types of content resonate most with your audience
How to find your top engaging posts by tag
1. Go to Reports, then run or schedule a Post performance report.
2. In the top right, choose the tags to include or exclude.
3. Review your total posts published per tag and total post engagement by tag to see which categories captured your audience the most.
Example: reading the results
Say the chart shows Promotions and CoffeeCat Community driving the most engagement, while Coffee 101 lags behind. Based on that, you might:
- Post more promotions and community content
- Increase focus on new products and keep featuring seasonal content
- Reduce how often you post Coffee 101 content
- Reassess behind-the-scenes posts
Important Audience interests change over time. Review your tag performance regularly so your strategy stays current. |
Best practices
- Merge near-duplicate tags in Settings → Tags so results aren't split across similar names
- Use a pick one group (for example, "Content pillar") so each post falls into exactly one category, which keeps comparisons clean

Note Labels are now tags. Your existing post labels carried over as tags, and reports work the same way. Learn more in How to create and manage tags. |
