Tags (formerly post labels) help you group and categorize posts by topic, brand, campaign, or content pillar. This guide shows you how to add tags to a post while you're scheduling it.
How to add a tag to a post
1. Click Create to open the content scheduling window.
2. Add your content, plus a link or media.
3. Right below the media, you'll see the tags field. Click the small triangle icon to see a dropdown of your existing tags. Nested tags appear under their parent tag.
4. To create a new tag, click the tags field and start typing. Click Create to add the tag.
5. Add as many tags as you need, then schedule your post.
How to manage your tags
Renaming, recoloring, nesting, merging, archiving, and deleting tags all happen in one place: Settings → Tags. Changes there apply everywhere the tag is used, including posts, inbox, media, ideas, and tasks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I add more than one tag to a post?
A: Yes. You can add as many tags as you need, unless a tag belongs to a pick-one group. In that case, you can only choose one tag from that group.
Q: Can I create a tag while scheduling a post?
A: Yes. Type a new name in the tags field in the post scheduling window and click Create.
Q: Can I add tags to posts I bulk schedule with a CSV?
A: Yes. Add a publication_tags column to your CSV and separate multiple tags with |||. Tags that don't exist yet are created automatically during import. Learn more in How to add tags to CSV bulk scheduled posts.
Q: How do I rename, recolor, or remove a tag?
A: Go to Settings → Tags and select the tag. When you rename a tag, its old name is saved as an alias so it can still be found in search.
Q: What happened to my post labels?
A: They're now tags. Every post you labeled before still has its tag.
