The Vista Social API extends Vista's publishing and analytics tools. Use it to connect social data with your analytics systems or broader workflows. You can:

  • Build custom reports and dashboards.
  • Integrate data into business tools like BI platforms.
  • Send content from your tech stack directly into Vista.

 

 

Vista Social API is available to Enterprise customers with the API add-on. If you would like to use this API, contact your Customer Success Manager.

  1. Custom Dashboards
    A music festival tracks engagement for artists' posts leading up to the event. They use the API to retrieve and display engagement stats on screens backstage for the artists and crew.

    A organization tailors reports to match its sleek, minimalist branding. They use the API to collect post and profile data, formatting reports with their custom designs.

  3. Customer-Specific KPIs
    A fitness chain creates a "community engagement" metric that combines shares, comments, and clicks. With the API, they calculate this KPI to evaluate social team performance.

  4. Draft Posts Creation
    A marketing team uses project management tools to plan content. With the API, they send promotional content drafts from their tool into Vista Social for approval and scheduling.

What Data Can You Access?

Here’s what’s available via the API:

Owned Profiles:

  • Profile-level analytics, updated daily by network time zones:
    • Audience/follower count
    • Impressions
    • Engagements

Published Posts:

  • Post details like text, links, media, and URLs.
  • Post analytics:
    • Impressions
    • Engagements

Additional Data:

  • Listening Topics: Metrics and messages are available.
  • Note: “X” data isn’t available due to API limits.

 

How It Works

The API supports reading and writing data.

Reading Data:

You can pull profile analytics and post data. It’s more efficient than CSV exports for sharing data with other tools.

Writing Data:

You can create posts, ideas, notes and upload media. The API connects Vista with your existing workflows.

 

What’s Not Included

The API doesn’t currently support:

  • Paid ads data
  • Competitor analysis
  • Industry benchmarks
  • Account or profile management
