Organizing your media with folders – Vista Social

Vista Social's Media Library now includes a Folders feature, making it easier to organize and manage your media assets! 📁 🥳

This guide will show you how to use media folders to keep your images, videos, documents, and sounds organized and easily accessible:

How to Create a Media Folder

1. Go to your Media Library then click Add folder at the top right.

2. Once you have the Folder creation screen opened, you may add your Folder title, description, media label, and the profile group/s it belongs to:

3. Don't forget to hit Save once you're done!

Adding Sub-Folders to a Main Folder

1. Click on your main folder to have it opened.

2. Once inside it, click Add folder to create your sub-folder.

3. Add your sub-folder's title, description, and media label (if you have one). Click Save afterwards!

How to Add Media Items to your Folders

There are 2 ways you can add a media item/s to one of your folders:

Moving an Existing Media Item to a Folder

1. In the Media Library, select the items you would like to move then click on the moving icon at the bottom right.

2. A note at the top will appear instructing you to go to the folder you want to move the items to.

3. Navigate to your folder of choice and click on "Move x selected media items here".

4. Your media items have now been moved!

Adding New Media to a Folder

1. Simply navigate to your folder of choice and click on Add media.

2. There are a lot of ways to add your media items, which you can learn more about in this article.

3. And now you're done! 🙌🏻

Moving Media out of Folders

The same principle works just like when you were moving your media files into your folders:

1. Select the items you want to move then click on the moving tool at the bottom right.

2. Navigate back to the main library by clicking on Media Library at the top.

3. Proceed to move your selected media items.

4. Now, they have been moved out of your folders!

Customization and Removal of Media Folders

If you want to remove or change the existing settings of your folder, click on the action menu button beside it:

Customizing your Folder

1. Click on Settings to open your folder settings.

2. Edit the elements according to your liking, then click Save once you're done!

Removing your Folder

1. Simply click Remove to delete your folder.

2. You will be given a warning before completely removing the folder.

Important: Removing a folder will also remove all medias and folders inside. Be extra careful, and make sure to move items you don't want deleted out of that folder before doing so.
