Folders in the Media Library help you keep your images, videos, documents, and sounds organized and easy to find.
How to create a media folder
1. In the Media Library, click Add media > New folder.
2. Add the folder's title and description, select tags, and choose the profile groups it belongs to. Then click Save.
How to add subfolders
1. Click a folder to open it.
2. Click the New subfolder card under Subfolders.
3. Add the subfolder's title, description, and tags, then click Save.
Recent folders
Your most recently used folders show at the top of the Media Library under Recent folders, with a preview and a count of items and subfolders. Click one to open it.
Moving between folders
Inside a folder, the breadcrumb at the top shows where you are (for example, Media library > Ask Vista > MCP Connectors). Click any folder name to jump to it. Subfolders are listed first under Subfolders, followed by All media.
How to add media to a folder
Move existing media into a folder
1. Select the items you want to move, then click Move to in the bulk action bar.
2. Choose the folder. Type in Jump to a folder to search, or click the arrow next to a folder to see its subfolders. Select the folder (or press Enter) to move the items.
Upload new media into a folder
1. Open the folder and click Add media.
2. Choose how to add your media. See Getting started with the Media Library for all the options.
How to move media out of a folder
1. Select the items, then click Move to in the bulk action bar.
2. Select Top level at the top of the folder list to move the items back to the main library.
How to edit or remove a folder
Click the three-dot menu on the folder.
Edit a folder
1. Click Settings.
2. Make your changes and click Save.
Remove a folder
1. Click Remove.
2. Confirm in the warning message.
Important Removing a folder also removes all media and folders inside it. Move anything you want to keep out of the folder first. |
How to share a folder
Open the folder's menu and click Share. The link shows everything in the folder, and anyone with it can view the files without a Vista Social account. Turn on Let people comment if you want feedback. Learn more in Share anything with a link and get feedback.

Q: Can I search inside subfolders?
A: Yes. In Filters, under Search in, choose Include subfolders.
Q: Who can see a folder?
A: Team members with access to the profile groups selected for the folder.
