With collaboration posts on Instagram, two users can co-author and share the same post on their respective feeds or Reels. Scheduling your collab posts at a time when your audience is most active is super easy with Vista Social.
The process consists of two steps:
- Schedule a collab post by inviting Instagram users as collaborators.
- Once the post is published, invited collaborators will need to accept the invite.
Types of posts that you can invite collaborators to
- Reels
- Single image posts
- Carousel posts (both video and image)

Scheduling Instagram collab posts
1. To start, create your caption and add your media. Then, click on the "Invite collaborators" dropdown on the right-hand side.
Alternatively, you can use the icon at the bottom of your video preview to invite collaborators:
2. Go ahead and add your collaborators' handles (up to 5 collaborators) & click Save.

Note To invite collaborators, you must use their Instagram handle. Only collabs with public Instagram profiles are supported at this time. |

Accepting the collaboration invite
1. Once your post is published, invited collaborators will receive a notification on their app, and they will need to accept it.
2. Your collab post should now be live!
3. During our data refresh (which occurs a few times a day), we’ll update the collaboration status to reflect whether the invite is pending, failed, or accepted.

Q: What is the maximum number of collaborators I can invite to my Instagram post?
A: According to Instagram, you can invite up to 5 collaborators to your post.
Q: Can I manage posts where I was invited as a collaborator?
A: No. Due to Instagram’s current third-party API limitations, posts where you were invited as a collaborator cannot be managed within the platform. However, you can view posts that you created in Vista Social and invited a collaborator to.
