Using trending sounds is a great way to boost engagement with your videos. We've curated our own library of Trending Sounds that our team updates monthly - and you can find it right in your media library.
How to use a Trending sound for your video

1. In the Publisher or Media Library, upload your video, click the three-dot action button on it's thumbnail, and select Pick sound.
2. The Trending sounds tab contains a curated list of sounds selected by our team (we update this weekly) that you can use for your video.
3. Once you select the sound you want to use, click on Apply sound.
Apply sound options
When applying the sound, you will have 3 options:
- Replace current sound - new sound will completely replace the current sound in the video.
- Add current sound
- Add sound to video's current sound - new sound will be added to the current sound in the video (which may or may not be the original sound, depending on wether or not you had already been applying custom sounds to the video).
- Add sound to video's original sound - new sound will be added to the original sound of the video.
When adding (or layering) the new sound to the video's current or original sound you can also control the volume of the new sound. This volume is express in percent of the current video volume. For example if you are adding the new sound as background sound selecting 50% will play the new sound at half of the current sound volume.
Reverting back to original sound
In some cases it may be required to revert the video back to its original sound. This may happen after you have applied a trending sound and now may need to revert that change.
That's easy to do. Simply click on Original video sound under the video itself, click on Apply Sound and choose a replace option.
Important Trending audio is currently only supported for video posts (not images or carousels). Make sure video processing is enabled to add sound. Due to Meta/TikTok API limitations, videos may sometimes appear as “original sound.” |
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I add trending sounds to videos when scheduling through the Vista Social mobile app?
A: Yes, you can! After uploading your video in the Vista Social mobile app, tap the three-dot (kebab) menu in the top left corner of the video. Select Pick Sound, go to the Trending Sounds tab, and choose the audio you'd like to use. Learn more here.
Q: Can I auto-publish an image post with audio through Vista Social?
A: No. Due to API limitations, adding audio to image posts is not supported for auto-publishing.
Q: What is the workaround if I want to include audio with my image post?
A: Use notification reminders. Vista Social will send you a mobile notification at the scheduled time so you can finalize and publish the post directly in the network's app, where you can add audio.
Q: Can I use trending sounds on platforms other than Instagram?
A: Yes, but our trending sounds library is curated from Instagram. If you use those sounds on platforms like TikTok or YouTube, keep in mind that different copyright rules may apply.
