Macros let you apply several actions to an inbox conversation with one click. Instead of tagging, completing, or assigning messages one by one, create macros that do it all at once.
What is a macro?
A macro is a set of actions that runs with one click. For example, a macro can:
- Mark a conversation as read or completed
- Apply a tag
- Create and assign a task
- Star the conversation
Where to find macros
In the inbox, open a conversation and click the lightning icon. You'll see the macros available for your profile group.
How to create a macro
1. Open a conversation in your inbox and click the lightning icon.
2. Click Create macro.
3. Enter a Name and Description so the macro is easy to recognize.
4. Add the actions you want. You can combine several, such as:
- Apply tags
- Assign a task
- Star this conversation
- Mark conversation as read
- Mark conversation as completed
5. Click Save.
Your macro is ready to use.
How to apply a macro
1. Open the conversation and click the lightning icon.
2. Select the macro you want to run.
Vista Social runs every action in the macro right away.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What happens if I run the same macro on a conversation again?
A: Nothing changes. Macros run once per conversation, so you won't get duplicate tags, tasks, or updates.
Q: Who can use macros?
A: Macros are created at the profile group level, so everyone in that group can use them. Private, user-specific macros aren't available yet.
Q: Why don't I see some tags when adding an Apply tags action?
A: You only see tags available to all profile groups or to the groups you belong to.
