Custom channels allow you to plan, collaborate, and schedule content for marketing efforts beyond the networks Vista Social currently integrates with. Whether you're managing email newsletters, blog posts, SMS campaigns, or ad content, custom channels provide a flexible solution for content planning and reminders.
How to set up a custom channel
- Go to Quick Add → Add Social Profile in your dashboard.
- Select Custom Profile and provide a name for the channel.
- Upload an avatar (optional) and add a network icon to represent the custom channel.
- Click Create to finalize the setup.
How to schedule content for a custom channel
- Go to Create → New post
- Select your custom channel when creating a post. Then, choose your scheduling option.
- Consider published at scheduled time – Automatically marks the post as published at the scheduled time for tracking purposes, even if manual action is needed.
- Send reminder notification – Sends a reminder (through email) at the scheduled time for manual posting.

Note: Auto-posting is not available since custom channels are non-authenticated and not integrated with any external platforms. |
Reminder notifications user status
When reminder notifications is selected, we will send a reminder (through email) at the scheduled date and time for manual posting. That means that you have to select a specific user to send the reminder to. Keep in mind of the different statuses below:
1. Active & Confirmed Email
An email is considered active and confirmed when it does not have any warning messages. For example, Maureen Anderson’s email is an active and confirmed email because it is displayed normally without any red warnings. We can select this user.
2. User has disabled reminder notifications
This means that the user (e.g., Lovey Poe) has opted out of receiving reminder notifications. As a result, they will not receive alerts or reminders for scheduled actions. If the user wants to receive these notifications, they will need to re-enable them in their notification settings.
3. User has not confirmed this email
The user has not verified their email address (e.g., Catherine Johnson). This means they haven't clicked on the confirmation link sent to their email upon account creation or email update.
