When you share a link, Vista Social shows the preview image that comes from that website. You can't replace that preview image with your own image.
If you want to use your own image, create an image post instead: upload your image and add the link to the caption. The image won't be clickable, but the link in the caption will be.
How to use your own image with a link
1. In the publishing window, add your link to the caption.
2. Click the camera icon and choose how you want to add your image, for example Upload from computer or Choose from library.
3. Check your caption, link, and image in the preview, then click Next to schedule or publish your post.
4. Your post shows your uploaded image, with the link in the caption.

Note If you use link shortening, the shortened link only appears on the published post. Vista Social doesn't show shortened links in the calendar. |
Key things to check
- Want the image to be clickable? Use a link post.
- Want to use your own image? Use an image post and add the link to the caption.
- A custom image that is also clickable isn't supported, because the link preview image always comes from the website.
Expected behavior
A link post uses the website's preview image, and clicking it opens the website. An image post shows your uploaded image, and people click the link in the caption to open the website.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I make my uploaded photo link directly to a website?
A: You can't make an uploaded image clickable. Use an image post and add the website link to the caption.
Q: Can I replace the preview image of a link post with my own image?
A: No. Link posts use the preview image from the website's metadata.
Q: What's the difference between a link post and an image post?
A: A link post uses the website's link preview, and the preview is clickable. An image post uses your own image, but the image isn't clickable.
Q: Will the shortened link appear in the Vista Social calendar?
A: No. The shortened link only appears on the published post.
