Microsoft Copilot Studio lets you connect custom MCP servers, including Vista Social, so your Copilot agent can manage your social profiles directly. This guide walks you through connecting Vista Social to Copilot Studio and adding it to an agent.
Important Copilot Studio is only available to Microsoft business and enterprise subscribers on a Pro plan. Regular Copilot Chat cannot connect custom MCP servers like Vista Social. |
How to add Vista Social as a tool
- In Copilot Studio, go to Tools → New tool → Model Context Protocol.
- Select Vista Social, Social Media Management Tool as your streamable endpoint, enter a name for the tool, choose OAuth2 as the authentication protocol, then click Create.
- Refresh the page. Your new custom connector should now appear under Tools.
How to connect the tool through Power Automate
- Click your new connector, then select Power Automate.
- Click Connections. If you don't see this option, click the pin icon next to it first, it only needs to be pinned once.
- Click New connection (or the + icon) next to Vista Social.
- Log in to your Vista Social account and click Login to Authorize. Once complete, you'll see the connection listed as connected under Connections.
How to add Vista Social to an agent
- In Copilot Studio, create a new agent (or open an existing one).
- Before starting a chat, click Add a tool → Model Context Protocol, then search for Vista Social.
- Select the Vista Social connector and click Add. This may take a moment to complete.
- If the tool doesn't respond right away, click Open Connection Manager, then click Connect. Return to your chat and click Retry.
- Try a prompt like "List my connected social profiles" to confirm the connection is working.
Important notes
- Creating the tool and connecting it are two separate steps. Adding the tool under Tools doesn't automatically connect it, you still need to complete the Power Automate connection.
- Some actions in Copilot Studio can take up to 30 seconds to process. Wait for the screen to finish loading before repeating a step.
Best practices
- Use a clear, recognizable name for your Vista Social connector so it's easy to find later.
- Test your connection with a simple prompt, like listing connected profiles, before building more complex workflows.
- If a connection doesn't go through on the first try, use Retry from the chat instead of recreating the tool from scratch.
