Connect your AI assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to Vista Social through MCP (Model Context Protocol). Once connected, your assistant can work directly in your Vista Social account: pull performance data, schedule posts and manage your inbox from a single request. You stay in control of what it does.
The connection is private and encrypted. Your assistant can only see and do what your own Vista Social user permissions allow, and you can revoke its access at any time.
What you can do with it
1. Triage your entire inbox in 10 seconds: Know exactly what needs your attention before you even open Vista Social. "Review today's inbox across all our profiles: sort by urgency, complaints first."
2. Find your best posting times and actually use them: It pulls your real performance data and schedules into your peak windows automatically. "What are our best times to post on Instagram and LinkedIn? Schedule next week's posts into those slots."
3. Schedule a whole week of content in one message: Stop queuing posts one by one. "Schedule 5 posts for next week across our Acme profiles: 2 product tips, 2 customer highlights, 1 behind-the-scenes. Spread them Mon–Fri."
4. Benchmark yourself against your industry: Find out if you're ahead or behind similar brands — and where the gap is. "Benchmark our Instagram and TikTok against industry averages and tell me the 3 biggest opportunities we're missing."
5. Turn a brainstorm into a full content backlog: One prompt, 15 ideas, organized by format and ready to schedule. "Give me 15 post ideas for our 'remote work productivity' theme: split between Reels, carousels, and LinkedIn text posts."
6. Catch post problems before they go live: It checks character limits, missing media, and formatting issues before anything publishes. "Check this draft for Instagram and X and flag anything that'll get rejected: [paste draft]"

What you need
- A Vista Social account (MCP is available on all plans)
- A paid Claude or ChatGPT account (free plans don't support this)
- Your MCP link from Vista Social (you only need to paste it once)
Two ways to connect
Go to Settings → Account Settings → Integrations and click Connect on the MCP card to see both link options:
- Universal link (recommended): Most modern AI tools connect with OAuth, including Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Copilot, and Perplexity. Paste the link below and sign in when the tool asks. If you're building your own app, or connecting a tool we don't support yet, the redirect URL has to be whitelisted first. See Custom apps and tools we don't support yet.
- Link with API key: For tools that can't sign in with OAuth. Most people should use the universal link instead.
Custom apps and tools we don't support yet
The universal link signs you in with OAuth. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Copilot, and Perplexity are already approved. Paste the link and sign in when the tool asks.
If you're building your own app, the redirect URL has to be whitelisted before anyone can sign in. That's the address your app sends people back to after they authorize Vista Social. Redirects to localhost or 127.0.0.1 are already allowed. Every other redirect URL has to be approved by our team first. Until then, sign-in stops on a page that says the app is not approved yet.
Submit a request and include:
- What you're building, and who it's for
- Every redirect URL the app uses
- A short video that shows the app and explains how the connection works
- Any other details that help us review it, such as the app name and where people will use it
If you already tried to connect, also include the app name, client ID, and redirect URL shown on the not-approved page.
If you're using a tool we don't support yet, tell us the name of that tool in the same request. We'll review the tool. A link to it helps.
This review is only for the universal link. The API key link connects without a redirect URL.
The steps below use the universal link, since that's what most tools need.
Connecting Vista Social to Claude
- In Claude, click Customize in the left navigation bar, then open the Connectors page.
- Click Add to add a custom connector.
- Enter a name (we recommend "Vista Social") and paste your MCP link, then click Continue.
- Click Connect next to your new Vista Social connector.
- You'll be taken to Vista Social to authorize the connection. Confirm you're signed in to the right account, review the permissions, and click Authorize.
- In your chat, make sure the Vista Social connector is enabled to begin interacting with your Vista Social account.
Connecting Vista Social to ChatGPT
In ChatGPT, go to Settings → Apps & Connectors.
Scroll to the bottom and select Advanced settings.
Turn Developer mode on.
Go back to Apps & Connectors, and you should see a button that says Create at the top.

Fill out the connector details:
Name: The name that will appear in your connector
Description (optional)
MCP Server URL: Back in your Vista Social integration settings, copy your MCP link (the universal link)
Authentication: If you're using the universal link, ChatGPT will prompt you to sign in to Vista Social to authorize the connection. If you're using the link with API key, select No authentication (the key is already in the URL)
Click Create.
Your connector will now appear under Enabled connectors.
Now, you can start a New chat and click the tool selector (+ icon next to the input bar).
Choose More and select Vista Social. ChatGPT will now route your requests through your MCP server for the platform.

Connecting Vista Social to Claude Code / Cursor
In your Vista Social integration settings, copy your MCP link (the universal link is recommended).
Now just give that to your Claude Code or Cursor agent and ask it to get it set up for you. It's that simple!

Q: Do I need a paid subscription to use MCP on Claude or ChatGPT?
A: Yes. Claude & ChatGPT require a paid plan to use connectors. Free Claude/ChatGPT accounts cannot use custom connectors.
Q: Is my client data safe?
A: Yes. The connection is encrypted, and your assistant can only access what your own Vista Social user permissions allow.
Q: Do I need a specific Vista Social plan?
A: No. MCP is available on all Vista Social plans.
Q: Is there a limit on how many MCP calls a user can make?
A: MCP has its own limit of 180 requests per minute per workspace. Learn more in Rate limits.
Q: How can users see how close they are to the limit?
A: Each response includes an X-RateLimit-Remaining header that shows how many requests you have left in the current minute.
Q: Can I see and manage which apps have access to my Vista Social account?
A: Yes. Go to Settings → Account Settings → Security to see every app connected via OAuth, including AI tools connected through MCP. You can revoke access for individual apps or revoke all at once.
