You'll Need:
- A Vista Social account with MCP enabled (Settings → Integrations)
- A paid Claude or ChatGPT account (free plans don't support this)
- Your MCP link from Vista Social: you'll paste it once and never think about it again
Two ways to connect
In Settings → Integrations, click Connect under MCP to see both link options:
- Universal link (recommended): Most modern AI tools connect with OAuth, including Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and Copilot. Paste the link below and sign in when the tool asks.
- Link with API key: For tools that can't sign in with OAuth. Most people should use the universal link instead.
The steps below use the universal link, since that's what most tools need.
Connecting Vista Social to Claude
- In Claude, click Customize in the left navigation bar, then open the Connectors page.
- Click Add to add a custom connector.
- Enter a name (we recommend "Vista Social") and paste your MCP link, then click Continue.
- Click Connect next to your new Vista Social connector.
- You'll be taken to Vista Social to authorize the connection. Confirm you're signed in to the right account, review the permissions, and click Authorize.
- In your chat, make sure the Vista Social connector is enabled to begin interacting with your Vista Social account.
Connecting Vista Social to ChatGPT
In ChatGPT, go to Settings → Apps & Connectors.
Scroll to the bottom and select Advanced settings.
Turn Developer mode on.
Go back to Apps & Connectors, and you should see a button that says Create at the top.

Fill out the connector details:
Name: The name that will appear in your connector
Description (optional)
MCP Server URL: Back in your Vista Social integration settings, copy your MCP link (the universal link)
Authentication: If you're using the universal link, ChatGPT will prompt you to sign in to Vista Social to authorize the connection. If you're using the link with API key, select No authentication (the key is already in the URL)
Click Create.
Your connector will now appear under Enabled connectors.
Now, you can start a New chat and click the tool selector (+ icon next to the input bar).
Choose More and select Vista Social. ChatGPT will now route your requests through your MCP server for the platform.
Connecting Vista Social to Claude Code / Cursor
In your Vista Social integration settings, copy your MCP link (the universal link is recommended).
Now just give that to your Claude Code or Cursor agent and ask it to get it set up for you. It's that simple!

Q: Do I need a specific Vista Social plan?
A: MCP is available on all paid plans, including Standard, Professional, Legacy Pro/Pro+, Advanced, Scale, Enterprise, and Meltwater. It's not available on Free or AppSumo plans.
Q: Is there a limit on how many MCP calls a user can make?
A: MCP is limited to 120 requests per minute.
Q: How can users see how close they are to the limit?
A: Each response should include an x-vs-rate-limit-remaining header that shows the remaining calls allowed within the current minute.
Q: Can I see and manage which apps have access to my Vista Social account?
A: Yes. Go to Settings → Security to see every app connected via OAuth, including AI tools connected through MCP. You can revoke access for individual apps or revoke all at once.
