Ensuring proper access to your Meta Business Portfolio and Ad Accounts is essential for your ad data to sync correctly in Vista Social. If your ad accounts are not showing or reporting data, it’s often due to missing permissions or incorrect account connections.
Why does this matter?
Vista Social can only detect and sync ad accounts that:
- Are connected to the correct social profile
- Belong to the correct Meta Business Portfolio
- You have full access to (not partial access)
If any of these conditions are not met, your ad accounts may not appear or may show no data in reports.
Creating an ad account for Facebook & Instagram
If you don’t already have an ad account for Meta, you’ll need to create one directly on the network before connecting it to Vista Social.
Step 1: Confirm your Meta Business Portfolio access
- Go to Meta Business pages: https://business.facebook.com/
- Go to Settings
- Navigate to Accounts → Pages
- Ensure:
- You are part of the correct business
- Your role is Admin (or full control)
|
Note If you only have partial access, you may not be able to connect or view ad accounts properly. What to check: Your name appears under users, and your access level shows Full control / Admin |
Step 2: Confirm your Ad Account access
- In Meta Business Settings, go to:
- Accounts → Ad Accounts
- Select the relevant Ad Account
- Check:
- You are listed under assigned users
- Your permission level is Full control
|
Note Having access to the business portfolio alone is not enough — you must also have access to the specific ad account. |
Step 3: Ensure the Ad Account is linked correctly
Make sure:
- The ad account is linked to the correct Facebook Page or Instagram profile
- The correct business profile is used when connecting to Vista Social
If the ad account is tied to a different profile, it will not appear in Vista Social.
Step 4: Reconnect your profiles in Vista Social
Once permissions are confirmed:
- Go to Settings → Connected Profiles
- Find your profile
- Click the three dots → Refresh connection
This allows Vista Social to re-detect available ad accounts.
Step 5: Select the correct Ad Account in Vista Social
- Go to Settings → Connected Profiles
- Click on your profile
- Scroll to the Ad account section
- Select the correct ad account from the dropdown
