Using trending sounds for your video posts in the Vista Social app

Using trending sounds is a great way to boost engagement with your videos. We've curated our own library of Trending Sounds that our team updates monthly, and you can find it right in your Vista Social app's media library.

How to use a trending sound for your video

1. In the Publisher or Media Library, upload your video, click the three-dot action button on its thumbnail, and select Pick sound.

2. The Trending sounds tab contains a curated list of sounds selected by our team (we update this weekly) that you can use for your video.

3. Once you select the sound you want to use, click on Apply sound.

When applying the sound, you will have 3 options:

• Replace current sound - the new sound will completely replace the current sound in the video.
• Add to current sound
  • Add sound to video's current sound - new sound will be added to the current sound in the video (which may or may not be the original sound, depending on whether or not you had already been applying custom sounds to the video).
  • Add sound to the video's original sound - the new sound will be added to the original sound of the video. 

When adding (or layering) the new sound to the video's current or original sound, you can also control the volume of the new sound. This volume is expressed as a percentage of the current video volume. For example, if you are adding the new sound as background sound, selecting 50% will play the new sound at half of the current sound volume.

Reverting to the original sound 

In some cases, it may be required to revert the video back to its original sound. This may happen after you have applied a trending sound and now may need to revert that change.

That's easy to do. Simply click on Revert to original under the video itself, click on Apply sound, and choose a replace option.

Frequently Asked Questions 

Q: Can I add trending sounds to videos when scheduling through the Vista Social mobile app?

A: Yes, you can! After uploading your video in the Vista Social mobile app, tap the three-dot (kebab) menu in the top left corner of the video. Select Pick Sound, go to the Trending Sounds tab, and choose the audio you'd like to use.

Q: Can I auto-publish an image post with audio through Vista Social?
A: No. Due to API limitations, adding audio to image posts is not supported for auto-publishing.

Q: What is the workaround if I want to include audio with my image post?
A: Use notification reminders. Vista Social will send you a mobile notification at the scheduled time so you can finalize and publish the post directly in the network's app, where you can add audio.

Q: Can I add a trending audio to a carousel post?

A: No, most social networks don’t allow adding trending audio to carousel posts in their API. 
The only exception is if you’re creating an Instagram mixed carousel. In that case, you can add trending sound to the video(s) included in the mix.
