TikTok requires clear disclosures when you post commercial content. This includes any post that promotes a brand, product, or service, whether for your own business or on behalf of another company.
In Vista Social, you can add the right disclosure label to your TikTok posts, so viewers know the content is commercial.
Disclosure types
TikTok lets you share content that promotes a brand, product, or service. There are two disclosure types:
-
Promotional content
- Use it when you promote your own brand or business.
- Your post displays the label Promotional content.
-
Paid partnership
- Use it when you post on behalf of another brand (branded content).
- Your post displays the label Paid partnership.
Learn more in TikTok’s guide to promoting a brand, product, or service.
How to disclose promotional content in Vista Social
Whenever you post promotional content, you must turn on the matching disclosure. This keeps your content transparent, helps maintain trust between the TikTok community and advertisers, and makes it clear when a commercial relationship exists between you and a brand.
-
In the post composer, open the TikTok tab of Customize your post on the right.
-
Turn on Promotional content if you’re promoting your own brand, or Paid partnership if you’re promoting another brand.
Finish your post, then schedule or publish it as usual.
Music usage for promotional content
TikTok recommends using music from its Commercial Music Library (CML), which contains pre-cleared tracks for commercial use.
You can use music outside the CML only if:
- The music doesn’t contain copyright-protected material, or
- You’ve obtained and paid for all necessary licenses to use it.
Learn more in TikTok’s guide to the commercial use of music.
Important Always comply with copyright laws. TikTok may impose sanctions on accounts that misuse copyrighted music. |
