TikTok requires clear disclosures when posting commercial content. This includes any post that promotes a brand, product, or service—whether for your own business or on behalf of another company.

The Content Disclosure setting allows you to add the appropriate label to your post, so viewers know it is commercial in nature. 

 

Disclosure types 

TikTok allows you to share content that promotes a brand, product, or service. This can include:

  • Promotional Content
    • Applied when you promote your own brand or business.
    • Your post will display the label: Promotional content.
  • Paid Partnership
    • Applied when you post on behalf of another business (branded content).
    • Your post will display the label: Paid partnership.

How to disclose promotional content in Vista Social

Whenever you're posting promotional content, you must enable TikTok’s Content Disclosure setting. This ensures transparency about the nature of your content, helps maintain trust between the TikTok community and advertisers, and—where applicable—makes it clear if a commercial relationship exists between you and a brand.

When scheduling or publishing TikTok content via Vista Social, you can easily mark a post as promotional:

  1. On the right-hand side of the post composer, locate the Disclosure toggles.
  2. Switch it ON to apply the appropriate label (Promotional content or Paid partnership).

 

Music usage for promotional content

TikTok recommends using music from their Commercial Music Library (CML), which contains pre-cleared tracks for commercial use.

However, you may use music outside of the CML if:

  • The music does not contain copyright-protected material, or
  • You have obtained and paid for all necessary licenses to use it.
