Social listening is the ability to track conversations in social media based on certain keywords and phrases.
This is a very useful feature as it allows users to understand more about their target audience and industry as well as discover potential customers, engage with their audience, and find potential brand ambassadors for their brand.

How to set up a listener in Vista Social
1. On your Vista Social Dashboard, select Listening:
2. Profile group and profile selector. Here you can choose connected profiles to work with. You can always connect more profiles.
3. Current active listeners are in green. Note that status will change from Initializing to Active a few minutes after you create your listener.
4. Click Add listener to create a new listener.
5. Add the keywords that you want to track under Included Keywords. You may also exclude results that contain any keywords that you want by specifying them under Excluded Keywords:
6. You may also filter the conversations that will be pulled through in your listeners by Sentiment, where each conversation is automatically tagged with a sentiment icon indicating whether it’s positive, negative, mixed, or neutral.

7. Once you have created your listener, it should now appear on your list of listeners. Here you will see the name of the listener, the number of profiles, and the status of the listener.
8. You may look up conversations in your listeners using keywords.
9. Select a listener to view all posts that match the keywords associated with it.
10. Use filters to refine your listener results by Type or Status.
How to reply to a conversation in your listener
1. To reply to a conversation pulled up by your listener, simply click on it and it should take you to your social inbox.
2. Once you're in the conversation with that user, select the message you want to reply to by clicking on the three-dot action button → Set as reply message.
3. At the bottom, you can confirm which message you're responding to. Start typing in your response on the reply box or use the AI assistant tool for assistance on crafting your reply.
4. Don't forget to hit the Send icon once your done!
Listener Features
1. Message labeling - adding labels to the conversation allows users to easily find it using the search box.
2. Create a task - you can assign any conversation to a team member and create a task to ensure that it is being handled by someone in your team.
3. Mark conversations as acknowledged - You can mark conversations as acknowledged for messages and comments that you have seen but don't need an urgent response, or simply don't need one.
4. Mark conversations as spam/archive - you can mark conversations as spam and archive them to organize your inbox to see messages and comments that are relevant and important to respond to.
5. Hide comments - you can instantly hide comments from your posts right from your social listener.

Note: Hiding comments is only available for Facebook and Instagram due to API limitations of other networks. |
6. Acknowledge all - you can use this function to acknowledge all conversations that your listener has currently pulled through.
How to deactivate or remove a listener
1. To deactivate a listener, click on the three-dot action button beside it → Deactivate.
2. To remove a listener, click on the action button beside it → Remove.
