Do you want to call out a user or a brand in your post? You may do so using mentions. To do so, simply add the @username of the page or profile in the post and it will automatically mention them in your post! 😎
Saved Mentions
Some brands may have different usernames on different social networks. Instead of manually tagging them in a single post, you may create a Saved mention and we will make sure that the correct page or profile is tagged per network.

How to disable Saved mentions
While Saved mentions are valuable, you can turn them off and just manually mention users the caption. This saves users time from setting up Saved mentions.
Just to to Settings > Publishing settings > Saved Mentions. Go ahead and disabled saved mentions for your account.
However, there are risks. If you use the wrong handle, the mention might not work, appear as plain text, or mention the wrong user. For example, mentioning @vistasocial instead of @vistasocialapp (our correct handle) would mention the wrong account.
Disabling Saved mentions also makes it harder to mention users with different usernames across social networks. For instance, we are @vistasocial on LinkedIn and @vistasocialapp on Twitter. Saved mentions simplify this process. If you disable them, just be extra careful with handles!
